Noun Magazine

Overview:

Noun Magazine is a modern travel guide/coffee table magazine that focuses on the people, places and things that make exploring each featured location special. I challenged my traditional skills in journalism to write the majority of the copy, take many of the photos in each article, and record videos of each story to create original content in order to build cohesion within the brand.

Problem to Solve:

How can we present a travel magazine that guides people exploring big cities while telling a genuine story about the destination?

Insights:

Taking inspiration from travel/editorial publications like Cereal and Popeye Magazine, I wanted there to be a balance of grid structure and freeform collage to tie together a look of professionalism and a feeling of community.

Commercial:
This teaser I filmed and edited serves as a slice of life in Seattle and gives readers a preview of what is to come with this current issue.

Newsstand Pop Up:

To sell Noun in Pop-Up fashion, the idea is to recreate a shopping experience in ode to the old timey news stands popularized in New York City.
